The Rants and Ravings of a Disgruntled Human

HomeAboutArchivesContact While we're on driving...

Have you ever wondered if there was a better way than stop signs and traffic lights? I mean, clearly the people who designed them have no idea how they work, and we're still forced to wait at a red light when all the people going the other way have been abducted and probed.

Honestly, am I the only one who finds it miraculous that so many people put up with the complete waste of time of a stoplight? How often have you been able to listen to an entire song while sitting at a light? I once saw a couple in the car next to me finish the entire copulation process while I stared at a glowing red light!

On the flip side, what is the point of a stop light or sign if people aren't going to even obey them. I can't even recall the last time I went through a green light, and didn't have some near sighted fruitcake make a right turn right in front of me! And they say the NRA is wrong to want hood-mounted shotguns.

I say we'd all be better off if all intersections could follow the model set here by the Seattle Transit Authority. Either have unrestricted intersections, where there are no signs and no right of ways, or plop down a plant in the middle, and let people drive how they want. After all, if people aren't going to obey the laws in place, why bother having laws at all? That's what I say.
